Safeguarding at OGPS
At OGPS, everyone is responsible for child protection and safeguarding.
We have four members of staff trained as Designated Safeguarding Leaders to ensure there is always a member of staff available to deal with any referrals that are made.
Mrs Dean (Deputy Headteacher) is the Designated Safeguarding Leader (DSL) for Child Protection & Safeguarding. In her absence you are able to speak to Mr Simmons, (Headteacher), Mrs McAndrew (Assistant Headteacher) or Mrs Mesgian (SEND-Co). Our governors with responsibility for safeguarding are Mr Nick Rozanski & Mr Irfan Mundiya.
If you have any safeguarding concerns, please contact any of the above named people through the school office.
For urgent Child Protection matters, outside of school hours, please contact:

The Prevent Duty
The Department of Education has asked schools to help them safeguard pupils from the risks of extremism and radicalisation. Schools must have due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism. The Headteacher attended WRAP training in November 2015 and staff at OGPS were trained in January 2016. We are planning further prevent training in summer 2017.
Our staff team have been trained by our DSL so they know the procedures for reporting disclosures or concerns regarding FGM. This is part of our Safeguarding Policy.
