PE & Sports Grant

The government is providing additional funding to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools.

Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this.

Oliver Goldsmith uses the funding to support the following areas:

Support and engage the least active children in our school.
Develop stronger links with Kingsbury High School to access their PE expertise and facilities.
Pay for professional development opportunities for teachers in PE and sport.
Provide cover to release primary teachers for professional development in PE and sport.
Purchase high quality equipment to enhance the current provision at the school.
Continue to offer/introduce a range of alternative sports/physical activities to encourage children who may not enjoy traditional sport.
Increase the number of children participating in enrichment activities across a school week.
Improve the playground environment with more children involved in structured activities increasing opportunities for physical activity.
Continue/increase the school's participation in more locally organised competitions.
