Governors at OGPS - Welcome from the Chair...
According to Ofsted, Oliver Goldsmith "… is a good school. Central to its success are the strong leadership, the inclusive ethos and the emphasis placed by all staff and pupils on promoting and respecting each other’s rights.."
Pupils get on together well and value the customs and traditions of their different cultures. Their contribution to the school and the wider community is outstanding.
The Board of Governors consists of parents, members of the community and staff; most of us are, or have been, parents of children at the school. We are responsible for setting the "strategic direction" and priorities of the school, and continually monitoring its achievements and progress. We set the budget and monitor how it is spent, promote excellence in teaching and learning, and strive to ensure that every child at the school is well-cared for and gets the best education possible.
We hold meetings each term, and you are welcome to attend these if you want to find out more about the school and what we do. You can find lots of information about the school on this website; we hope you enjoy reading about life at OGPS. Please contact me or one of the other governors if you have any comments or questions, you can do this through the school office.
We are all very proud of Oliver Goldsmith's strong ethos and achievements. I am constantly amazed by the efforts and achievements of the staff, parents and of course the children. I hope that you enjoy your time with us. Please visit our Governors pages to find out more about what we do, how you can join us and more about who we are.
