Headteacher's Welcome

Oliver Goldsmith Primary School - Be Part of Something Special

Oliver Goldsmith is a friendly, warm and thriving school community where in partnership, staff, children and parents work together to secure excellent outcomes for all children. Through an enriched curriculum, pupils are given many opportunities within and out of school to achieve their full potential. Our end of Key Stage results are above local and national standards and Oliver Goldsmith has a reputation as a high performing school in the London Borough of Brent. Our last Ofsted inspection in June 2018 rated the school as good.

Oliver Goldsmith pupils are proud of their school, they are well presented, polite, kind and hard-working and uphold the school’s ethos and values and its motto ‘Inspiring a love of learning’. Oliver Goldsmith has very supportive families, who contribute actively through the "Friends & Family of Goldsmith" Group (FFG). Many events are held throughout the year in order to secure a positive partnership with our families and local community. The governors work effectively with the school to ensure the best possible provision and outcomes for its pupils.

Oliver Goldsmith thrives on its diverse community with a rich variety of home languages, cultures, faiths and traditions. We are proud to celebrate our diversity and enjoy teaching and learning from each other.

We want our pupils to look forward to coming to school and to be bursting to talk about their day when they get home. We want them to enjoy learning for a real purpose and to develop their confidence, self-esteem, independence and a genuine love of learning. We want them to go out of the classroom as much as possible; learning in the school grounds, in the local area and beyond. We want them to learn from a range of visiting adults and to know how to make guests feel comfortable and welcome. We want them to cook, to garden, to make things and to experiment. We want them to visit theatres, galleries, museums and libraries. We want our pupils to be global citizens, able to succeed and build a fulfilling life in a sustainable and increasingly international society.

At OGPS we believe in “Inspiring a love of learning”. Come and join us and be part of something special.

Mr. James Simmons
